Safety forms the cornerstone of our program, fostering an environment conducive to collective learning. Rooted in psychosocial development theories, I believe that trust and safety are fundamental to nurturing autonomy, initiative, and collaboration.
By cultivating playful and collaborative relationships among peers, we enable children to develop a collaborative mindset, engage in problem-solving, and embrace diverse perspectives—essential skills for the 21st century.
KO Playdates
At Kurios Oasis playdates, children relax and play with their peers. In this, their social and emotional wellness is enriched, and their thinking dispositions are nurtured (Thinking dispositions: Curiosity, Persistence, Collaboration, Reflective Thinking, Flexible Thinking). Children are naturally curious. In early childhood development, they form a colossal number of neural connections by observing and interacting with their environment, including the people around them. They explore using their senses and seek to make sense of things they do not yet understand. This learning occurs through play, experimentation, and social interaction.

Our goal through these play sessions is to empower children to construct new knowledge, explore and solve problems independently, and cultivate a curiosity about the world around them. We aim to nurture respectful and confident lifelong learners who are enthusiastic about discovery and respectful of diverse perspectives.

Children in KO PlayTeams will have priority for Play Dates. By committing to Saturday play dates, children will have the same playmates for several days, allowing continuity in their play projects and deeper exploration of topics of interest. Teachers can learn more about the children and provide parents with detailed information on child development. Children in KO PlayDates can attend whenever there are vacancies available.

Cancellations are free if made at least one week before the playdate, or if a medical certificate (MC) is provided. Regulars will have one free late cancellation without charge.

Lessons will not be refundable unless you withdraw your booking 7 days before the play date.

It is highly likely that your child will see familiar faces if you book the same sessions every Saturday.

Unlike enrichment programs that focus on one topic (phonics, ballet, math), KO allows children to work on various learning domains, including social emotional development, science, math, language, critical thinking, STEM, art, and more.

While I am trained to support preschoolers with language and literacy, the lessons will not focus solely on phonics. Children will engage in activities that require writing, and during these moments, our teachers will help develop their language and literacy skills.

Our home base is at Tampines North. However, if the children decide to study dinosaurs or plants, we may travel to Changi Airport’s Dinosaur Park or Gardens by the Bay. Parents will be updated the week before any planned out-of-home-base experiences, which is likely only for children in long-running KO PlayTeams.

You will receive updates on the Wednesday after every play date. KO PlayTeam members’ parents can also attend child development workshops for free. Regardless of the plan you have signed up for, we hope to establish a positive and meaningful partnership with you! Let us work together to make the early years a wonderful time for your children.
